There are the ones who just reek of desperation for attention—any attention at all. The ones who are so focused on appearance that they don’t realize that’s all they are. The ones who are clueless and bumbling along. The invisible ones. The ones that try so hard that nobody likes them.

What they don’t realize is that the trying is what makes it weird.

The ones that are narrowly defined and amazing in their sub-culture, and the ones that are all around popular and seem to succeed at everything have one thing in common.

They aren’t worried about pleasing anyone else. They are confident in who they are. They are focused on what they are doing, not how they look to anyone else.
